Press Release: Daring Book for Girls

The Daring Book for Girls was published in 2007 and spent fourteen weeks on the New York Times Bestsellers list, as well as top spots on lists of bestselling books around the country.  With over 1.4 million books sold, it was the number seven bestselling book of 2007, with rave reviews from ten-year-olds, mothers, and grandmothers alike! The first of a unique collection of stories, facts and projects for adventure-seeking girls, it was followed by two pocket versions, Things to Do, and Wisdom and Wonders,and in March 2009, by The Double-Daring Book for Girls.

The Daring Book for Girls has been or will appear throughout the world, with translations into French, German, Dutch, Korean, Serbian, Turkish, Hebrew, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese. A special British version was published in the United Kingdom and another English-language edition was published in October 2008 for Australia and New Zealand, with new chapters on how to bushwalk and surf.

A global Burger King promotion has begun in Europe and Latin America, with three different toys cased in a turquoise box that looks like The Daring Book for Girls. That promotion will appear in the United States in August and September 2009. Calendars and a week-by-week engagement book will be available in mid-2009, as will a Daring Book for Girls board game and a video game for Wii and DS.
